In 2013 Mike retired as chief executive of Barchester Healthcare, the company he founded in 1992 and built from a single care home into a high-quality and profitable portfolio. Since 2013 he has used his experience, expertise and resources to help back other, younger entrepreneurs and their companies to make a positive impact on the lives of older and less abled people and their communities, in a number of chair, vice-chair and non-executive director roles.
